毎年、留学生が初めて仙台に到着したときのことを想像します。見知らぬ空港、見知らぬ言語の案内板、見知らぬ顔が行き交う街——その緊張と不安の中で、一歩を踏み出した勇気を、私はいつも尊敬しています。
在校生の留学生に「仙台に来てよかったと思うことは何ですか？」と聞くと、こんな声が返ってきます。

本校のスタッフは、留学生一人ひとりの状況を把握し、生活面でも学習面でも丁寧にサポートします。困ったことがあれば、一人で抱え込まずに、先生や事務局に相談してください。相談することは弱さではなく、解決への最初の一歩です。
卒業後、あなたたちは日本と母国をつなぐ存在になれます。日本語・英語・母国語を使いこなし、日本のおもてなしの精神を世界に伝えられる人材——それは、まさにこれからの観光・ホテル業界が必要としている人間像です。

To those who came from far away: Sendai is your second home.
Every year, I try to imagine the moment when an international student arrives in Sendai for the first time. An unfamiliar airport, signs in a language they are still learning, a city full of strangers — and in the middle of all that tension and anxiety, they took a step forward. I have always deeply respected that courage.
When we ask our current international students, "What makes you glad you came to Sendai?", here is what they tell us:

Our staff keep close track of each student's situation and provide careful support both in daily life and in studies. If you are struggling, please don't face it alone — talk to a teacher or the school office. Asking for help is not weakness; it is the first step toward a solution.
After graduation, you have the potential to become a bridge between Japan and your home country. Someone who speaks Japanese, English, and their native language — and who can bring the spirit of omotenashi to the world. That is exactly the kind of person the hospitality industry needs going forward. Be proud of what you learn in Sendai, and let's build a future together where you can look back and say with a smile: "Coming to Sendai was the right choice."
